I began my teaching career in 1986 after completing a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. After teaching Kindergarten and First Grade in Texas, my family and I moved back to Weleetka in 1994. In 1997, I was hired by Weleetka Schools to teach Kindergarten. Since then, I have taught Second Grade, Sixth Grade, and 4th-6th Grade Reading. I earned my National Board Certification in 2007 and then went on to complete a Master's Degree in Administration in 2011. I have had the previledge of being the Assistant Principal for two years and in 2013 became the Elementary Principal at Weleetka Schools.
I love working with children and encouraging them to be the best that they can be. I believe when you set high expectations, you get closer to your goal of achieviment.
My husband Jerry, a 1982 Weleetka High School Graduate, and I have 2 sons who have graduated from Weleekta Schools. Ty, a 2008 graduate, who is completing a degree in Envioronmental Science from ECU in Ada and Trenton, a 2010 graduate, who is completing a degree in biology from OU in Norman.
We attend and serve at First Baptist Church Weleetka where I play the piano. We also enjoy spending time with our family and friends.
